Model-based design kits
Nicknamed ‘MBDK’, this kit is perfect for those who don’t want to waste too much time (or any time at all!) programming code
The MBDK edge
Simulink is a powerful graphical design environment that allows you to build applications as block models. Lyrtech has thoroughly integrated its I/Os and interfaces to MATLAB’s Simulink, which allows you the freedom not to have to worry about them when developing your applications — you can simply drag and drop them as you would any other Simulink block.
It’s not enough to be able to develop applications in Simulink for DSPs and FPGAs — you must also be able to output code for them. Lyrtech can boast of the best interface between the most notorious code generation tools on the market — Real-Time Workshop and System Generator for DSP. This interface makes it possible to go from your Simulink model directly to your DSP executable files and FPGA configurable files in a single click. Interface and integrate with the supplied interface libraries in no time flat. Benefit from all-integrated configuration, simulation, and code generation. Configure your boards in a snap with graphical configuration tools. Draw the maximum out of your boards’ streaming interfaces. Further your understanding of your boards through their extensive libraries of demonstrations and applicative examples.
FPGA and DSP troubleshooting tools right in your models
Save precious development time using the built-in troubleshooting tools of the MBDK — in the form of Simulink blocks — namely recording/playback tools and shared-memory HIL co-simulation tools. They will allow you to work out the kinks in your designs without having to muck around usual debugging tools.
The MBDK — Not just a “big black box”
If you are familiar with programming and want to fine-tune or troubleshoot the MBDK, be our guest! Simply open Code Composer Studio or ISE Foundation and dig right in..
Examples
Lyrtech boards and solutions usually come with a mix of the following two types of examples:
- Hardware functional examples describing how to configure and communicate with the various hardware and software modules available to the board. Hardware functional examples are designed to help you use the DSP and FPGA's interfaces. All the hardware functional examples use DSP or FPGA Simulink models.
- Applicative examples demonstrate how Lyrtech boards are integrated to various types of market applications such as wireless communications and software-defined radio. Applicative examples can, in some cases, be sold separately. The image on the right is typical of the descripive help accompanying examples.
Documentation
